The Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs has launched a series of optional classes “Iron Shield” for its cadets. The classes are aimed at practicing tactics of police actions to stop mass riots.
Under the guidance of experienced specialists – senior lecturer of the Department of Fire Training of the DonSUIA Volodymyr Musiychuk, lecturer of the Department of Tactical – Special Training and Police Officer’s Personal Security Anatolii Kovbasiuk as well as police practitioners of the Patrol Police Department in the Kirovohrad region Roman Rudenko, Vitalii Repyiashnyk and Serhii Tikhonov the higher education seekers practiced skills in handling weapons, special means and tactical techniques for neutralizing aggressive individuals, restoring crowd control, organizing defensive actions, and evacuating victims.
Particular attention was paid to communication with citizens, de-escalation of conflicts, and respect for human rights.
Such classes not only increase the level of individual and collective readiness of cadets to perform tasks, but also form a responsible attitude towards their service, legal awareness, and the ability to make informed decisions in crisis situations.
