On the occasion of the National Day of Prayer and the third anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion to Ukraine, at all locations of the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs, the memory of those who gave their lives fighting for the Motherland, as well as civilians and children who died as a result of enemy bombings was commemorated. The event began with the National and Spiritual Anthem of Ukraine performance.
“The prayer helps us, we believe in our victory. We must remember the cost we are paying for it, and be proud of our colleagues who, together with the Armed Forces of Ukraine, protect our lives, making it possible for us to work and study. Cadets and students, your task is to rebuild Ukraine, to make it a strong, independent, European state,” emphasized Serhii Vitvitskyi, rector of the DonSUIA.
The present members of theUuniversity staff and cadets bowed their heads during a minute of silence and joined the prayer, which was conducted by the secretary of the Kropyvnytskyi diocese of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, archpriest Ivan Shubyn.
The University higher education seekers and students of the Mariupol primary vocational training center “Police Academy” of the DonSUIA laid flowers at the graves of Ukrainian soldiers on the Alley of Glory of the Rivnenske cemetery in Kropyvnytskyi and at the memorial sign of the University parade ground.
