The staffers of the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs took part in the online presentation of the educational and methodological manual «Implementation of gender approaches in the training system of specialists in the security and defense sector of Ukraine».

The event was held at the initiative of the Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine in cooperation with the Government Commissioner for Gender Policy within the framework of carrying out the National Action Plan for the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 «Women, Peace, Security» by 2030.

During the event, the participants were presented with a teaching and methodological manual prepared by the author team which included representatives of central executive bodies and higher education institutions of the security and defense sector of Ukraine. The publication is dedicated to the current issues of integrating gender approaches into the professional training system, developing gender-sensitive communication, ensuring equal rights and opportunities for women and men, as well as responding to conflict-related sexual violence.

Those present discussed practical mechanisms for introducing gender issues into the educational process, modern approaches to creating a barrier-free and non-discriminatory educational environment, and also familiarized with the best practices of Ukraine and NATO countries in ensuring gender equality in the security and defense sector.
