A meeting of the coalition «Kirovohrad Region 1325» held in the Kirovohrad Regional State Administration, was dedicated to the issues of strengthening inclusive security and localization of the National Actions Plan 1325 «Women, Peace, Security».
The event took place in a mixed format and brought together about 90 participants – representatives of government bodies, public sector, educational and scientific institutions.
Representatives of the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs – Rector Assistant for Gender Issues Kateryna Voievoda and Candidate of Psychological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Psychology, Sociology and Pedagogy Natalia Tsumarieva – joined the discussion.
Government Commissioner for Gender Policy Kateryna Levchenko addressed the participants with a welcome speech, emphasizing practical dimension of implementing the «Women, Peace, Security» agenda and its significance for communities.
In her turn, Kateryna Koltunova, Deputy Head of the Kirovohrad Regional Military Administration, presented the region’s experience in implementing the National Actions Plan 1325, outlining achievements, challenges, and further steps.
The event participants discussed the key goal of the project «Building Inclusive Security: Localizing NAP 1325 Across Ukraine» – strengthening regional capacity to form a comprehensive security system involving women, youth, and vulnerable groups. Particular attention was paid to the role of gender advisors as an important tool for ensuring quality management decisions, as well as the need to actively involve youth in the processes of forming security policy.
An important component of the meeting was the project presentation by its coordinator Natalia Lozytska, who outlined further fields of work and the tools for strengthening inclusive security. Director of strategic development of the Ukrainian Women’s Fund Natalia Karbovska admitted the efficiency of interaction between the authorities and the public sector, emphasizing that the Kirovohrad region demonstrates an example of their successful, partnership.
The participants paid special attention to the preparation of a new regional actions plan 1325, which should become a good tool for responding to modern challenges and consider real needs of the population.
The participation of the DonSUIA representatives in the coalition meeting contributes to the implementation of modern approaches to ensuring gender equality and inclusive security in the educational activities of the University, as well as the development of interagency cooperation in the field of security.
