The general library of the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs held a dialogue of generations «History in Books and People» on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the institution’s foundation and the 5th anniversary of its acquisition of the status of state University.
Head of the general library, Yuliia Bahlai, addressed the audience with a welcome speech, emphasizing the importance of the library as a center for preserving historical memory, developing academic culture and communicating across generations.
The central point of the event was a book and an illustrative exhibition «Pages of our Alma Mater Glory», presented by librarian Antonina Harkusha. The exposition restored the path of the University’s formation – from founding a special police school in 1961 to its transforming into a modern, powerful educational center.
Special emotional atmosphere was caused by a thematic block «My path to the University». The DonSUIA representatives shared their personal and professional stories: Rector Assistant Olha Kovaleva, Associate Professor of the Department of Operational, Investigative Activities and Information Security Serhii Pekarskyi, Head of the Department of Analytical Work and Management Organization, Police Major Tetiana Prosvirina, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Special Physical Training Yurii Myronov, and Associate Professor of the Department of Psychology, Sociology and Pedagogy Halyna Mukhina. The speakers recalled their years of study and service, mentioned challenges on the path of professional development, talked about how the University tempered their character and helped determine their life goals.
Students and cadets joined the discussion, sharing their experience of studying in modern conditions, combining education with service, describing their own motivation for choosing their profession and their desire for steady development.
The event ended with an interactive session «Phoenix – 65 Years of Success», during which the participants wrote down their wishes with signatures as a symbol of the generations unity and the University further development.
