The VIII YurFem Summer School for female law students, attended by Kateryna Adzhubei and Veronika Kozachok—cadets from the Faculty of Training Specialists for Pre-trial Investigation Bodies of the National Police of Ukraine at the DonSUIA took place in the Lviv region.
Over the course of four days, the participants explored the following issues: gender equality, Ukraine’s European integration, a victim-centered approach to justice, human rights protection, gender-based violence, and combating discrimination. Special attention was paid to the gender-sensitive recovery of Ukraine, equality at the workplace, and safe working environment.
During their training sessions, the participants also examined the specifics of gender-based violence in the digital space, the use of artificial intelligence, and gender-sensitive legal analysis of legislation. The practical component involved working on project ideas and discussing ways to apply the knowledge gained in their professional practice.
A key element of the program was interacting with women from various legal professions, allowing students to learn about their career, experiences, and the challenges they face in the legal field.
Upon completion of the training, the cadets received certificates.
The VIII Summer School was organized by the Ukrainian Women Lawyers Association “JurFem” with the support of the Norwegian Helsinki Committee and the Norwegian Agency for Development and Cooperation (NORAD).
