A webinar on the topic «Educational process in light of the new requirements of the Law of Ukraine «On Academic Integrity» was held at the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs.
The main speaker of the event was Yevhen Nikolaiev, one of the developers of the draft Law of Ukraine «On Academic Integrity», Candidate of Economic Sciences, Deputy Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute «Academy of Teachers» of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University.
The discussion was joined by heads of the DonSUIA structural units, heads of departments, guarantors of educational programs, as well as scientific, pedagogical and research staffers.
In his speech, Yevhen Nikolaiev presented key provisions of the law and explained the specifics of its norms implementation. The speaker emphasized that the document provides for a necessary transition period, which higher education institutions should use for internal transformation. This involves not only formal updating of documentation, but also deep restructuring of approaches to organization of scientific activity and ensuring the quality of education.
The webinar participants analyzed in detail a complex of management decisions that need to be made in the near future. The changes will affect almost all areas: from the methodology of conducting lectures to the procedures for defending scientific research. The key task was to create an environment where academic integrity would become not just a legal requirement, but a natural component of the University culture.
Due to such initiatives, the DonSUIA consistently forms an educational environment in which academic integrity is an integral basis for the quality of education and trust in its results.
