Forensics is not only about strict protocols, but also about the art of analytics and teamwork. That is why cadets of the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs took part in practical classes on the topics «Types of versions and planning of investigation» and «Tactics of the crime scene inspection».

Doctor of Law Olha Kovaleva was a coordinator of the events.

For practical work on the tasks, the participants were divided into four teams – «Expert Landing», «Gross’s Adepts», «Tactical Maneuver» and «Version Hunters». Each group received a hypothetical criminal event, developed possible versions, determined priorities, drew up a plan of investigative actions and planned tactics for the crime scene inspection.
In addition, to develop interaction, the cadets performed dynamic exercises with a ball and transferred «material evidence» through a live «pipeline» without the use of hands, which allowed them to practice coordination speed, team interaction, and leadership skills.
Finally, the teams moved on to visualizing their strategies: each group presented an investigation model, within which they analyzed the main versions in detail, determined a clear sequence of actions, and revealed the specifics of the crime scene inspection, separately identifying «critical points» that could affect the success of the case.
Following intensive work, the best result was demonstrated by the «Expert Landing» team, which won a well-deserved victory.
